Financing plan

A financing plan is a forward-looking table that lists a project’s investment needs and the resources mobilized to cover them — equity, loans, grants. It demonstrates financial balance over the short and medium term.

In practice

When opening a franchise unit, the candidate presents a three-year financing plan: €150k total need, split between €40k personal contribution, €90k bank loan, and €20k regional grant. If the plan reveals a cash shortfall in month eight, the banker requests an overdraft facility or a revision of projections. A realistic plan — including operating expenses from day one — is worth more than optimism that damages the relationship with the financial partner.
