Click depth
Click depth counts the number of clicks needed to reach a page from the homepage. Beyond three clicks, crawling becomes sparse and the page receives a diminishing share of internal authority.
In practice
On a large site, depth is controlled through architecture: intermediate hub pages, compact pagination, cross-links between sibling pages. Our engine guarantees a maximum of three clicks across all generated pages — topic and zone hubs, plus proximity links calculated between neighboring pages.
