Credit scoring
Credit scoring is an algorithmic rating that evaluates the probability of a borrower repaying a loan, using financial, behavioral, and sector data. It determines access to financing and the pricing terms offered.
In practice
A franchisee candidate seeking approval to open a new unit must typically present their credit score to the franchisor before validation. A poor Banque de France rating can block bank financing even when the business case is solid. Some franchise headquarters have developed internal lending funds or partnerships with microcredit organizations to support candidates whose banking file is imperfect but whose operational profile is convincing.
