Visual search

Visual search starts from an image — photographed or uploaded — to identify, compare, or buy. Google Lens processes billions of these queries monthly, far beyond the niche use it once was.

In practice

Being findable there requires clean visuals: original photos of products or completed work, sufficient quality, and textual context that identifies them. Stock images, identical across thousands of sites, are invisible by construction. For trades rooted in the physical world — crafts, retail, real estate — an entire acquisition channel hinges on the photo library.
