URL slug
A slug is the final segment of a URL that identifies the page: in /journal/choosing-a-holding, the slug is choosing-a-holding. Short, descriptive, lowercase with hyphens, it contributes to result readability.
In practice
Workshop rules: remove stop words, keep three to five meaningful terms, ban accented characters and uppercase letters, never include a date unless the content is inherently date-specific. Once published, the slug stays put — editing a title is editorial, editing a slug is a miniature migration.
