Franchisor (franchiseur)

The company that designs and manages the network: it contributes the brand, tested know-how, initial training and ongoing support. Its revenue — entry fees and royalties — depends directly on franchisee performance.

In practice

The job changes at every scale threshold: ten franchisees can be managed directly; fifty demand dedicated field coaches, a training structure and shared tools. The recurring mistake is selling territories faster than the capacity to support them. Know-how must stay ahead of the network — once experienced franchisees stop learning from the franchisor, they start questioning why they continue to pay.
