Indexation

Indexation is the registration of a page in a search engine’s database after crawling and analysis. A non-indexed page does not exist in results regardless of its content quality.

In practice

The delay between publishing and indexation ranges from a few hours to several weeks. The levers: an accurate sitemap, internal links leading to the page, and quality that justifies the slot. Since 2022, Google indexes more selectively — 'discovered, currently not indexed' in Search Console most often signals a perceived value deficit, not a technical bug.
