Operations manual
A confidential document that consolidates all procedures, methods, and standards the franchisee must follow to operate the concept at network level. It is the tangible embodiment of the know-how transferred and is handed over against a signed confidentiality undertaking.
In practice
The operations manual typically covers: production or service standards, client-welcome procedures, visual standards, HR processes, reporting obligations, and crisis management procedures. Regular updates are a franchisor obligation: a manual unchanged for five years signals a network head falling behind its own concept. Legally, adherence to the manual is enforceable against the franchisee in any dispute.
