National franchise convention
A periodic gathering — annual or biannual — of all franchisees in a network, organised by the franchisor. A key moment of cohesion, it serves to share results, present concept innovations, train on new procedures, and recognise top-performing franchisees.
In practice
The national convention is a cohesion investment whose ROI is hard to quantify but real: networks that hold it regularly show higher renewal rates than those that dropped it for budget reasons. Sessions should alternate top-down information sharing with horizontal peer exchanges among franchisees. A franchisor that monopolises the floor without leaving time for open discussion misses most of what the convention can deliver.
